Ellis was part of the kid pop group Minipops.. He recorded vocals on multiple albums including:

  • Christmas (1984)
  • Let’s Dance (1984)
  • Wanna Have Fun (1985)

Musical Theater

Ellis’ vocals can be heard on multiple musical theatre soundtracks and he also recorded an album at London’s famed Abbey Road Studios.

Ellis collaborated with Robbie Williams on his 2005 album Intensive Care and recorded backing vocals on three tracks, Ghosts, Spread Your Wings and Sin Sin Sin.

Starlight Express

Ellis originated the role of Rusty in Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new Starlight Express and can be heard on the original cast album.

Miss Saigon

Ellis was cast as the alternate Chris in the original production of Cameron Mackintosh’s multi-award winning musical Miss. Saigon which world premiered at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 1989.
Ellis has performed the U.S. national anthem at both a N.Y. Rangers hockey game and Oakland A’s baseball game.

Ellis co-wrote Miracle for American Idol, recorded by season 10 The Voice winner Alison Porter.

Ellis produced an album and an EP through his independent record label Flava Records.

Open Sesame Seed

Singer/songwriter Nick Heyward (from the 80’s pop band Haircut 100) wrote original songs and poems and asked Ellis to produce and narrate. The storybook album Open Sesame Seed was created in collaboration with Emmy Award® winning sound engineer Dan Cubert.
